Arthritis
If your pet is becoming less active, less mobile, more grumpy or grooming less then it could be due to arthritis.
Over a lifetime of activity wear and tear of the joints can lead to arthritis which causes the joints to become sore and painful. Dogs and cats show the symptoms of this in different ways....
Dogs
- Have stiff legs or a limp especially when first getting off their bed
- Want to do less exercise and are slower
- Can be grumpier to you, for instance if you are trying to get them out of their basket and pain is making them reluctant to move
Cats
- Are less active and spend more time resting
- Groom themselves less so they have a poor, matted coat
- Can be grumpier to you, for instance if you are trying to get them out of their basket and pain is making them reluctant to move
We can help get your pet feeling more like their old selves using exercise and weight management, nutrition and medication.
